The ARE suite of collaborations with recognised Australian Chef’s and well known brands continues with a series of Brewery partnerships across Australian Airports. Australian’s are well known for their appreciation of fine beers for some time and the local brewing scene offers a wide range of styles to local travellers.

CBC Airport Taproom

ARE has partnered with local favourite, Capital Brewing Co, for the new bar at Canberra Airport. The CBC Airport Taproom is a truly local brand using fresh Brindabella waters and fresh local ingredients to produce their award winning brews.  Alongside CBC products, the bar also serves the region’s best wines and spirits from local suppliers Pialligo Estate, Shaw, Helm and Clonakilla, and spirits from Canberra Distillery and Underground Spirits. You can also enjoy our restaurant menu including fantastic burgers, fish and chips and other local favourites.

Fat Yak Bar

Opening in 2019, The Fat Yak has quickly become the newest and coolest place to meet, eat and drink at Terminal 2. The idea for a dedicated craft beer bar was inspired by Australia’s growing microbrewery scene; a new craft beer brand enters the market every week across the country, and consumers are lapping up the lovingly crafted brews.

Fat Yak beers are cheeky, friendly and relaxed. Its creators passionately and painstakingly produce their delicious Original Pale Ale, Australian Pale Ale and Pacific Ale, but they make sure they have fun while they’re doing it, believing that when you do what you love and have fun as you go, you will do a great job. This philosophy has worked, with Fat Yak winning multiple crafting awards, and becoming Australia’s most recognised craft beer brand.

ARE brings this fun and energy to the airport; The Fat Yak focuses on local, premium boutique beers matched with a tasty bar menu of freshly made pizza and skewers. For the traditionalists, it also offers a range of local and international beers and wines.

The Fat Yak is open at Sydney Terminal 2.

Newstead Airport Taphouse

Airport Retail Enterprises is really excited to be teaming up with Brisbane’s Newstead Brewing Co to open the Newstead Airport Taphouse at Brisbane Domestic Airport. One of Brisbane’s favourite craft beer breweries will now be at the airport so you can enjoy a drink before you fly. Alongside the core range of beers Newstead Taphouse will also offer limited edition batches and seasonal brews. There will also be a fantastic pub menu where you can enjoy great burgers, steaks, fried wings with hot sauce and share plates. There’s also an all-day breakfast menu.

Newstead Airport Taphouse is located through security near Gate 38 at the Brisbane Domestic Terminal.
